DIYA Toolkit (“us”, “we”, or “our”) operates the DIYA Toolkit website (the “Service”). “You” applies to both individuals and entities that access or use our Services. “Members” are any individual or entity that creates an account to use the Service, and includes paying Members and those using any free trial or other promotional offer.

This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use and disclosure of Personal Information when you use our Service.

Your privacy is important to us. We are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. We will not use or share your Personal Information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.

We use your Personal Information for providing and improving the Service. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not consent to this Privacy Policy, then do not use the Service. Unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy, terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Terms of Service.  This Privacy Policy is incorporated by way of reference into the Terms of Service.

We collect and use this information in order to serve you and your needs and so that we can contact you when necessary. Collecting this information allows us to remember you and personalize the Service towards you. We will not sell any of your personal information.

When using our service, you must create an account first, and choose a username and password. We strongly recommend not using your real name or information in your username. Usernames are public and cannot be changed after you register. If you use personal information, such as your real name, keep in mind it will show on your profile and cannot be hidden. Please choose a username that is appropriate and professional. You may use capitals and numerical characters with no spaces. You may change your display name, as in the name that appears next to your picture throughout the website, in your profile settings. You may change your password at any time through your account settings. We recommend choosing a strong password that you do not use for any other website. Accounts have a numeric User ID assigned to them when they are created that cannot be changed. You may delete your account at any time through your account settings or by contacting us at info@diyassist.ca. Please note it may take up to two business days for a response.

You may optionally include other personal information on your profile at your own risk. You can manually set the privacy of information on your own profile through your profile settings to decide who can see that information, with an exception. Please note that all profile information, regardless of privacy settings, is viewable and editable by administrators of the Service. This allows us to moderate and monitor to ensure that all content on profiles follows the Terms of Service. In the profile privacy settings, “Everyone” means that the information is public. “All Members” means all Members of the Community can see the information. “All Friends” means only your friends can see the information. “Only Me” means only you can see the information, with the exception of administrators of the Service.

We may contact you through your given email address at any time, including to give Notices, as described further in the Terms of Service.

PAYMENT INFORMATION

We do not handle any of your payment information. Payments are processed and handled by Paypal. Their privacy policy can be found at https://www.paypal.com/ca/webapps/mpp/ua/privacy-full.

DOWNLOAD DATA

You may request a copy of your personal data through your account settings. Please note it might take some time for a personal data report to be generated. Your personal data report will be sent to the email associated with your account when it is ready in the form of a zip file.

REMOVAL OF INFORMATION

You may remove any and all information in the Community associated with your account at any time by deleting your account through the account settings page, or by contacting us at info@diyassist.ca. Please allow up to two business days for any removal requests. Please note that account deletion will not delete any external email correspondence between you and us, including but not limited to reported problems.

LOG DATA

We collect information that your browser sends whenever you visit our Service (“Log Data”). This Log Data may include information such as your computer’s Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, browser type, browser version, the pages of our Service that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages and other statistics. We collect this data in order to administer the website, analyze trends, and to track movement around the website in order to improve our Service.

We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies or practices of any third party sites or services.

CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

Our Service does not address anyone under the age of majority in their province or territory (“Children”).

We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from Children. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your Child has provided us with Personal Information, please contact us. If we discover that a Child under the age of majority in their province or territory has provided us with Personal Information, we will delete such information from our servers immediately.

We will disclose your Personal Information where required to do so by law or subpoena.

CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes via the website. We will also post any changes and links to old versions of the Privacy Policy on this page in the Changelog.

DATA BREACH PROCEDURES

In the event of a breach where any of your personal information has been lost, stolen, or potentially compromised, we will alert you via the email associated with your account no later than 48 hours of us being aware of the event. We will also report any such events to any required authorities. We will work closely with you and any others affected to determine next steps and to determine how best to avoid any similar event in the future.
