You should log into your website every 2 weeks (1 month at maximum) and check for updates. Updates are done to help fix bugs and increase functionality. There are always going to be new and improved features added in the forever-changing world of online marketing, so regularly checking for updates ensures that your website is kept up-to-date and working properly.

Be sure to have a back-up of your website before doing updates, just in case the update fails and you have to re-upload your saved version.

Once your site is updated, test and review your site. This may include: reviewing pages, testing links, testing forms, etc.

Content & Contact Information

If you have promotions, new products or services and/or upcoming events, advertise them on your site and keep them up-to-date. Once promotions and events are over, be sure to remove them from your site, or categorize them under “Past Events and Promotions” instead, for example.

Always make sure your customers can either contact you through your website or find your place of business and contact information easily on it. Frequently test your contact form, and make sure that any phone numbers, emails, hours of operation and locations/addresses are kept up-to-date.
